Wednesday Wants

Morning campers.  Things haven't gone as I had planned, I promised outfit posts and they have been very much lacking.  I have made three dresses though so swings and roundabouts.  Selfish in sewing, selfish in life?  Ha.  I am starting to think about my Christmas list already, I have such a job putting anything on it that I usually ask for vouchers so please excuse how early I am.  Wonder if Grey will mind if I put a pretty ring from George Pragnell on it... So I have spent some time browsing the pretties online to share.  Again mostly from asos, they seem to be propping the dress candy up right now. I have looked at a few collections recently and thought 'oh, how drab.'  It might be officially Autumn now but that doesn't mean we want to lose colour and wear sludge.  Have you not seen the colours of Autumn dressmaking companies?!

This dress is by Closet and comes in under £50.  You can't tell from this photo but it has a lovely V back (the kind I was trying to do on dress number 69!) The fabric has been described as scuba but it looks more like a nice weight jersey in the photos which will mean it will wash and wear like a dream.  It's pretty much a perfect Sarah dress.  I love teal!  Defo wouldn't wear it with those shoes mind.

I've never considered putting mint and red together but I really like how the little bit of red works with the dress.  Asos must buy up all the lovely fabric, you can't see too clearly in this photo but it has a lovely texture to it.  Perfect for a September wedding.

I love the colours and shape of this dress but not keen on the pleated skirt.  They don't really work well on those of us blessed with a tummy.  But the print is too cool not to feature and not all of you guys are as lucky as me, some have been cursed with flat tummies.  You poor things!  I think this dress will look fab with black opaques and a little cropped cardigan, definitely too cold for bare arms and legs now.

Following on from their fruity clutches New Look have just released a fast food collection!  The burger is my absolute favourite, I mean - IT'S A BURGER! There is also a doughnut and a milkshake clutch if a burger isn't your thing.  Get the burger from asos, it's £3 cheaper ;)

I cannot wait for the launch of the next Orla Kiely x Clarks collection on Friday.  I much prefer this collection to the first, I am currently trying to decide which of the two pairs I love will be mine as I cannot justify both of them.  It is a toss up between these ones in black or these ones, which do you prefer?

  2. Oh that first dress is lovely. Just as well they don't have it in my size! I love the navy Orla's but for the price maybe you should go for the brown and mustard ones as they are more unusual?

  3. Hi Sarah. I’m glad your going through autumn dresses. It’s one of my favorite time of the year. I like plaids. They’re such a classic. I’m hoping to make at least a couple of plaid dresses this season. Thanks for sharing.
