Made By Me #6

Eeep I have been looking forward to sharing this made by me number with you guys since I finished it.  It is one of the first fabrics I ordered, before I knew what pattern I was going to use!  As soon as I saw it I knew I needed it in my wardrobe, my venture into dress making has made me realise that I love grey as a base for dresses as well as for home decor!  Good job I ended up marrying a Gray hey ;)  I don't have much grey in my shop bought wardrobe as a lot of grey clothes can be pretty dull but I am sure you'll agree that the scattered multicolour pluses make this anything but drab.

Not much to say about the pattern, again it is another Christine Haynes Emery with very minimal alterations.  I am tempted to alter the neckline to make it slightly lower but haven't gotten round to it yet, making up a new dress is far more fun and I have a few beautiful fabrics that I need to see as a dress and obviously wear which is spurring me on.  I will have a go at another pattern sometime but it's hard to get the motivation, I love this dress and would be happy if I only ever wore this style.  I can make one in about 5 hours now too and don't need to go through all the hassle of fitting a new pattern to me but I know to improve as a sewer I need to challenge myself to do more than the same pattern over and over plus I have some of that map fabric to use which is too heavy for a gathered skirt.  If you have made the Emery link me up, I love seeing other peoples versions.  Also if you have made the Mortmain from Gather Kits let me know, that's the pattern I will have a go at when I stop to take a breath!

Dress: Made by me using it's a plus fabric from Cloud 9
Pattern: Emery by Christine Haynes
Shoes: asos

I finished dress number 14 last night and am looking forward to starting number 15 this evening, this sewing lark is so much fun!
