Voodoo Vixen

Something new to share with you today, an actual midi length dress. Not a midi dress I have had taken up to above the knee but one I tried on, looked at in the mirror and didn't feel totally frumpy!  Not an easy task.  At 5'5" I am not particularly short but it's a length I can't usually pull off so I am over the moon that this beautiful dress from Voodoo Vixen has bucked that trend.  The fabric is a gorgeous heavy weight wool that is fully lined so feels so luxurious to wear.  And just stop for a second to look at that collar, yummy!  There is also a co-ordinating cape available, it's equally stylish and I am sure it is snuggly and warm.  I quite fancy the idea of wearing the set whilst ice skating in a pair of cute retro ice skates.  If only I could actually ice skate! haha.

I wear quite a lot of 50's inspired clothing already but have yet to master the tea length hemline, something which I am hoping this dress is a step towards.  I want to swish around a 50's diner and learn how to stick my newly longer hair up in a beehive.  A girl can dream.  In the mean time I am off to go check out the other retro styled dresses and skirts, dreamy.

Dress: Voodoo Vixen*
Cardigan: asos

If you could have lived in a different decade what would you choose?  I would definitely go for the 50's and maybe if I did I would already be able to sew and would be wearing my own cute creations.
