Wednesday Wants

The holidays are coming, the holidays are coming!! Eeeekkk! I am getting proper excited now.  I am mostly looking forward to having a nice chunk of time off work, spending quality time with my family and LIE INS.  Oh yes baby!  What I would give for a lie in right now.

I am on the hunt for a bright blue dress to wear with my cobalt blue shoes.  I love being all matchy-matchy, ever the queen of over co-ordination.  This little skater dress from Excite Clothing is the perfect colour and very purse friendly. In fact there are some bargains on their site if you are looking for a little treat for you this Christmas, I love this polka dot skirt, a steal at only £6.99!!

I am killing myself with this dress!  It is so, so beautiful but unfortunately for me so, so expensive even with a cheeky discount on asos.  Have a look at the close up of the print, candid cameras!  Reminds me of TCTC Film Maker lyrics.  I am swooning over here!!

Dress: Antipodium

Two pink and black dresses on my wishlist this week!  I bought this dress on Monday after falling head over heels for it as soon as I tried it on.  It falls just above the knee on me (I'm 5'5") and is so beautiful.  The fabric is so thick it hangs just right, to be honest you wouldn't believe it is from Topshop.  It has an expensive feel to it.  It got a lot of love over on instagram and has just come online today so I am certain it's on the top of a few wishlists right now!

Dress: Topshop

I have actually already ordered this dress but wanted to share it with you all as I am not sure when it is going to arrive and it is pretty much the perfect tartan dress.  I am having it made a couple of inches longer and with elbow length sleeves so I can stop my search for the perfect tartan dress after all these months.  I can't wait for it to be made and on it's way to me.

Dress: Mod Dolly

I have a lot of love for the indies right now, always happy to customise an item to make it exactly what you are looking for, you don't get that with a high street shop now do you?!  With this in mind I want to share a few of my favourite indies, girls who are only too happy to make a custom order and offer fab products at great prices.

Based in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, The Bohemian Collective is responsible for the above the knuckle rings gracing many a finger this year.  I adore the 9ct gold band version and even more so knowing it is handmade in the UK, it's going on my birthday list.  Faye is happy to make custom orders too, can't wait to share mine!

You would need to have been living under a rock not to have heard of Crown and Glory this year.  Already a firm favourite with fashion bloggers, a collaboration with RocknRollBride has gone stellar!  Whenever I need something with a little sparkle or some help with a fancy dress outfit I head straight to Sophie, nothing is ever too much trouble.  This headband would look fabulous with Christmas dress number one!

I first found Miss Cake whilst looking for a cake topper for our wedding cake.  The quality is exceptional and I love that they are so easily personalised.  I still can't get over how reasonably priced Sarah's items are.  This year I have bought Gray and I a personalised tree bauble, the perfect finishing touch for our Christmas Tree.

I have a few more indies to share with you soon, I have found a couple of fabulous dress makers and cannot wait to share my purchases with you.  Have you found any great indies?  Please share the love in the comments, I am always looking for great new handmade items especially if I can customise to get exactly what I am looking for and a one off.

  4. Thank you for the additional info on the fantastic pink and black striped dress! I was just about to ask on your previous post.
If you don't mind me asking, does it fit true to size? I'm in the US and haven't bought from Topshop before. I'm a pretty consistent UK12/US8 at ASOS, but Topshop's sizing chart reads a bit different though. Do you have any sizing advice? Thanks!

    1. The fabric doesn't have any stretch in it at all even though it says it contains elastane. I find I am usually a 10-12 in stretchy dresses and a 14 in anything without stretch and bought a 14 in this so would say it is true to size. The 12 was too tight around the bust. The dress is amazing, the fabric is lovely and thick and hangs really well. It looks really expensive but I think was really reasonable for the quality. Hope that helps and that you love the dress!
