Popcorn Fun

This is one of those dresses that I knew I had to own the second I laid eyes on it.  Aside from the delightfully quirky popcorn print the cut of the dress is perfection.  From the elbow length sleeves to the nipped in waist and the beautifully full skirt, just dreamy.  I have put a few stitches to secure the bust area so I don't have to worry about gaping and revealing more than I am comfortable with and I have also removed the tie belt.  I stumbled on this dress and the site I bought it from, Miss Bamboo, whilst looking for a totally different dress (which I still haven't found, damn blast!) but every cloud and all that.  I've since found that the dress is a Vanity Project dress made by Limb, I now have a tough decision to make - which fabric to go for next!  Look at the choice!!!  All dresses are made in England, something that I am trying to support by buying UK made clothing where ever possible.  I have a nice little list of UK dress makers now and this makes me happy!  Now I just need to find a quaint retro cinema and go to a 50's diner for a milkshake to do this dress justice.

Shoes: Clarks

I've since bought these red shoes from Clarks and cannot wait to team them with this dress, the perfect combination!  Red shoes are really hard to come by this year it seems, thankfully Clarks saved the day.  Also couldn't resist these blue ones, I adore cobalt blue and these shoes are my absolute favourite style, they are so comfy and I love the shape of the vamp.  There have been loads of great discounts around this weekend, I took advantage of 20% off at Clarks, the same at asos and 30% off at Motel, result!

The Christmas lists are in so I am busy buying and wrapping up pressies for our family and friends.  One of my friends has decided that she is going to be giving up smoking for Christmas and has asked for an ecigarette as a gift.  I was thinking of going for a cherry flavour, is that a good move or should I stick to something more traditional?  I'm keeping everything crossed for her, she has been smoking for 20 years so it is not going to be easy.

I have had a great two last weekends but being away from home is hard for a homebird like me, I miss my bed!  There is nothing like the comfort of your own bed and that amazing feeling of climbing into it and snuggling down after a hard day of shopping is there?!  I have a really, really hectic weekend coming up of blogger events and birthday celebrations but am taking comfort that no matter how fun and tiring it is I will be sleeping in my beautiful bed at the end of the day.  If you are going to the Bath Blogger meet next Saturday or the Clothes Show next Sunday let me know.
