Sunday Sweets #36 Chocolate Devils Food Cake

This is the other cake I baked for Gray's 30th Birthday a couple of weeks ago.  He was very particular with this one, he loves the Betty Crocker Devil's Food cake mix and I have to slap his wrists if there is a pot of the chocolate fudge icing around.  Fingers out!

The mix makes a lovely moist chocolate cake and is really quick to bake if you are in a hurry.  I used two 8" tins and followed the instructions on the box.  Once cooled I sandwiched it together with a layer of the chocolate fudge icing before covering it in icing and adding a crumbled flake to the top.  Simple but effective for a chocolate lover.

This cake came out for lunch with us and was topped with too many candles and a big sparkler.  Think I managed to wow Gray's little niece, Emma.

If you're looking for something easy with no weighing out I definitely recommend this cake mix and it also comes with Gray's seal of approval!

  1. Don't blame Gray at all - this is my favourite cake mix too! Great for if you don't have much time, and really (really, really) yummy too! Love the way you presented it with lots of candles and a sparkler :) xx
