I usually end up buying a couple of dresses, one for my works night out and one for a night out with my girls. And then there is my sister's birthday on boxing day although seeing as she will be 8 months pregnant this year I am guessing it will be quite a tame event this year! Still a good excuse to buy a pretty dress though right?!
We are contemplating doing a murder mystery for our works Christmas party this year. I haven't been to one before and have always thought it sounds like great fun. We have found one near us at Severn Valley Railway which is even themed as Who Killed Christmas?! Best not tell my little niece that Father Christmas has been murdered ;) It comes with a five course meal which sounds yummy but means I need a dress that can nicely disguise a food baby and this H! by Henry Holland dress fits the bill perfectly. I am loving navy this season and this dress is understated enough for my works party but pretty enough to still feel dressed up, win/win!
For my girlie night out I want a bit of glitz and sparkle! I don't need an excuse to wear sequins but when it is totally expected I just have to crack them out. Sequins can feel so wrong in Spring/Summer but to me make Autumn/Winter. I love wearing sequins dressed down for day and often team a sequin skirt with a comfy sweater or a sequined knit with a floaty skater skirt so for a night out it has to be special and this pretty ballerina skirted dress made my heart flutter when I set eyes on it. So, so pretty!
Dress: Red Herring @ Debenhams
Whatever my sister decides she wants to do for her Birthday this year I have found a dress for all occasions! It can be dressed up with sparkly heels and a statement necklace or dressed down with a pair of cute boots and would look fab at a restaurant, pub or club! All bases covered. I very much doubt she will want to go clubbing this year but stranger things have happened, haha.
Dress: Oasis @ Debenhams
Have you started looking for your Christmas party dress yet? Do you go for one dress fits all occasions or like me splash out on several? I kinda feel it would be rude not to ;)

I love the first dress, lovely colour and cute print! When I was a student I always used to always try to buy dresses suitable for most occasions so I could re-wear thing and get the most of my money. Now I'm working though I'm hoping I might be able to splash out a bit more!

I usually try to find just one dress that is perfect for all occasions which saves me money - usually no-one sees it twice anyway ;-) I love the 2nd one, it's perfect!
ReplyDeleteH! by Henry Holland is such a breath of fresh air in what I am finding a really bad season (or year!) on the high street. It always has fun prints and nice cuts, without looking trashy.
ReplyDeleteI usually buy one dress as I'm a bit low on the funds when it comes to Christmas time and I maxed my credit cards many years ago ;) however my old faithfuls don't really fit at the moment. I finally got my wish of a bigger chest overnight... my mother always said, "be careful what you wish for". Lol.
