Tell Me About It, Stud.

I have become a bit shoe crazy again recently and it's mostly Spartoo's fault.  I have become seriously addicted to checking their new arrivals.  So many nice shoes! I fell head over heels for this pair and haven't stopped wearing them since they arrived.  They are so comfy and if I do say so myself look great with my tan.  They have also meant I have been able to wear my collection of frilly ankle socks without feeling like I should be going to pre-school...

I really, really want these boots in black.  I love the fit/shape and of course the gold studs but they would be even more perfect if they were black... now unfortunately they do not come in black but they are 100% leather, has anyone successfully dyed white leather shoes black? Would you recommend me trying?

  1. I love them! I think they're lovely in white. Plus Topshop and Office are both doing something similar in black at the moment so maybe check there?

  3. These are gorgeous! Never dyed shoes or heard about anyone who has tried but if I were you I wouldn't. These are lovely the way they are and you could end up ruining them! There are tons of studded black boots about so I say just buy yourself a pair elsewhere

  5. hi, i'm a new follower and I'm just going back through you posts and thought i would leave a comment on this post as i've dyed a pair of white studded topshop brogues black.
I say dye but you just paint it on. The brogues look good but after a wear round the supermarket doing the weekly shop and I can see faint cracks appearing at where they were had previously been creased due to wear (they were worn alot when white). I am not sure if it is because of the amount of layers of dye put on or with just because that the shoes were worn so much before that the creases are too deep for the dye to penetrate them.
If you are loving them in white then I would suggest leaving them as there is no going back after making them black! And it might not be worth it in the end. You could buy a pair of plain black boots and add studs yourself. Hope this was helpful :)
