I certainly will not be mentioning the offending company name on my blog. Ever. I didn't want to give them any publicity but clearly I underestimated the power of social media. Lots of lies were told last night, please do not make assumptions about me, if you have any questions please email me.
I know I usually blog my wishlist on a Wednesday, well my wish for this week is for this to all blow over now please. I couldn't let it pass without making comment on it but I have now so let's all please move on and start talking about the next #drama.
One last thing from me, I know from reading the #bbloggers discussions on a Sunday evening and seeing the hate that certain (lovely & supportive) bloggers get blogging seemed to have lost it's way and forgotten what was important - a community offering support to each other. Not last night. I am incredibly proud that my fellow bloggers (and those who actually work in PR) came to my support last night, solidarity speaks volumes. I love each and every one of you and say a big THANK YOU. Every cloud and all that.
Bloody ridiculous. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteThey've lost maaaany possible clients in all of us bloggers - as for the name and address thing it ridiculous. And the 'we cannot send out any products for review' umm why? Its hardly as if they're sending out the name, address, personal phone number, dna, etc etc.
Some people make me truly sick.
100% behind you Sarah! <3

Watching that 'persons' tweets last night was getting me more and more riled up, how do they feel like they have the right to talk to people like that?
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you haven't been brought down by it, if i was in your position I would have done exactly the same thing.
Well done for taking the high road!
Rosie xo
You are the nicest blogger there is!Its a shame that something that could have been positive for the company (constructive and useful feedback) was taken so professionally and badly.I hope noone is horrible to you for it because you have done nothing wrong.xxx
ReplyDeleteThat's crazy! They've shot themselves in the foot there, at least you can hold your head high. you mentioned no names on twitter so they only have themselves to blame for making it become so public and ruining their own reputation.
ReplyDeleteX
I watched all this unfold last night. I think you held it together really well, considering the "PR" in question decided to get personal! xo
ReplyDeletesending you all my love Sarah. I am sorry you had to protect your tweets to get some peace today and I can't believe the company is still going out of their way to include your username in their tweets. You've got our back xx
ReplyDeleteliloo/@tsunimee xx
I couldn't believe the stuff she was saying - I haven't had the emails forwarded to me but I probably don't need to! I hope you're okay :) xx
ReplyDeleteAgree with Sarah above, I hope you're ok, you're one of my favourite bloggers and I'm proud to consider you a twitter friend xxx
ReplyDeleteI don't really know what to say about all of it Sarah, what a complete farce. Hopefully this post is spells the end of it for you. You are the nicest person I have met through blogging, love for you always xxxxx
ReplyDeleteI agree with everything above you are a great Blogger and an amazing Twitter friend. The company in question is totally vile. You have shown dignity and strength that I personally would not have been able to. Lots of love xx
ReplyDeleteYou'd think the PR person would at least be able to write a coherent sentence. They need to re-do GCSE english, grammar is friend not foe.
ReplyDeleteI still can't even comprehand how her mind was working when I was reading it all last night! Utter ridiculousness, and her awful comment that spurred it was so unjust! You are beautiful and handled yourself very well through the whole thing (and continue to do so now)
ReplyDeletexxx
I am totally on your side. They contacted me as well and I picked a gorgeous bag to review... Sadly... I have been told I can only get an ugly pearl bracelet!!!
ReplyDeleteHOW RUDE!
I was a little bit shocked, as they contacted me asking if I would kindly review something of my choice! Really bad PR, well done you! xoxo
New follower here x
Can I say you acted with dignity - I think PR's and brands forget that bloggers stick together and we are not muppets.
ReplyDeleteProfessionally the brand are now officially acting like idiots still raging and still fighting and blocking - so a big lesson in the use of social media and how not to use it.
That is incredible that someone has such lack of respect. How bloody rude! You handled yourself perfectly and like a lady, obviously the PR person lost more then her manners!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're okay Sarah. It was nice to see everyone come together last night in support of you.
ReplyDeleteyou should be really proud with how you responded to this. i know i wouldnt of been half as classy or dignified. you showed real strength of character not lowering yourself to their level. remember people like that wont get far in life :) but im a little glad this happened as its the reason i found your blog lol <3 xo
ReplyDeleteI watched this all unfold on twitter last night and have read the emails this 'PR' had sent you. I cannot believe how rude she was and still continues to be. You handled the situation really well and was nice to see how even though there is competition between bloggers were still q community and will stick together
ReplyDeleteWow, that absolutely disgusting how she spoke to you. So unprofessional.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe this! Poor you having that unprofessional woman lauch an attack on you and to such a ridiculous degree, what a witch!
ReplyDeleteHope you're alright x
Um, wow! That's nuts! And the diet comment is soooo below the belt, yikes! x
ReplyDeleteLove u Sar xxx
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that you had to deal with someone so completely tasteless. I hope you are okay <3
ReplyDeletep.s. next time just accept the ugly item and give it a bad review ;) haha xx
ReplyDeleteThis was all absolutely ridiculous. How can that person call themselves a business woman, they can't even call themselves an adult!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that everyone rallied around you xx
I was approached by the same company, i will not be working with them after reading this now! What a shame x
ReplyDeletei'm completely gobsmacked by all this. i only just managed to catch up on it all but how dare she say all this crap to you! i can't believe she even threatened to call the police. i think she quite obviously has a screw loose if she thought your twitter followers would physically attack her! glad its all over now & you're okay xx
ReplyDeleteYou're amazing. Some people are disgusting. x hivenn
ReplyDeleteYou are only took kind not to respond and rip them to sheds. I truly do not understand PR companies. It seems like they have this attitude of, "I am offering you something for free, why don't you just take it?!"
ReplyDeleteYou spoke your voice- that is highly important. You certainly took the high road by not mentioning their name, and your tweets do not draw you like you're a monster. You are human, and they should never speak to you like that.
ReplyDeleteI am proud of you, and proud to read this post.
sending you happy spells

I only came across this PR 'event' today, as I only signed up to twitter the end of last week. I was really shocked what I came across and clicked to view your blog. I am really sorry some awful PR woman put you through this! What a nasty piece of work. Do not listen to her I dont even know you and I am proud of you, you were graceful and polite, and she was just rude and childish. Sending kisses and good thoughts your way xx

Hello, this is awful, I was approached by the same company and had a problem too, I don't really think its a good idea to bad mouth the people who they want to advertise their company, people who see your post now won't think twice about using them now, too bad for them xx
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of your blog before this happened, but with the tweets spreading like wildfire throughout the blogging community, I soon became familiar with your name.
ReplyDeleteThe whole situation was awful and I think it's admirable that you're laying the matter to rest now and wanting to move on.
If anything positive has come out of this, it's that I discovered A-Million-Dresses!

Wow, well I don't think you were in the wrong at all (not that that's really being disputed), but geez how unprofessional are they to stage such a personal attack? I absolutely realise you need to vent somewhere as I've been in similar situations myself and you feel you want to speak out but aren't quite sure how to go about it. You didn't name names so there was no need for them to dive in at all. I had a strange situation earlier in the year when a well-known high-street store contacted me regarding a new collection they were launching. They wanted to send me the whole range and made a point of explaining that this was exclusive; they hadn't contacted anyone else and didn't want to because they really wanted me to do it. Obviously I jumped at the chance...then I got an email back saying that they'd send me 'some' of the collection instead because they already had a (well known) blogger to review the full range. In the end, I didn't receive a single thing from them. It really P'd me off because they made such a point about not getting in touch with anyone else but then went behind my back and did so and then to not send anything at all? Eugh! Anyway karma kicked their bottom as they've since gone into administration. It really put me off shopping there at all after the way I was treated though.

ReplyDeleteSeriously gobsmacked at this, I work in PR and this is just....well there are no words! If the company she works for have any sense then she won't be there anymore. Sorry that you had such a bad experience-im sure you know this already, but we're not all nobs like this one!x
