What I Packed

Morning! I thought I would share with you what I decided to take with me to Paris.  It wasn't an easy task as I just couldn't decide what I wanted to wear!

I packed an extra dress for both day and night just in case, you never know what might happen!  We are going to be doing loads of walking so heels are out of the question for me, I know I won't even be able to manage them in the evening, so bought the pretty wedges from my Wednesday Wants to wear on the nights out.  The eagle eyed of you will notice the orange dress from last weeks Wednesday Wants and the pink dress plus both pairs of sandals from this weeks.  They were just what I've been looking for.  Have I taken more than you would for four days/three nights?  I always try to pack as little as possible but seem to add stuff at the end 'just in case'

Traffic Stopper

I didn't tell you that when I bought this pink Zara dress I also snapped up the red version.  It's a very orange/red and just as bright as the pink one.  The straps have been altered on both by my lovely Mum (Thank you!) and I can now wear them without flashing my bra to everyone.

Wednesday Wants

I am going to shock some of you today and show you some shoes I am lusting over as well as some dresses!  You'll probably never see me actually wearing them on the blog but hey they are pretty so I want to share :)  I ended up buying the orange Topshop dress and the pink Zara dress from my last Wednesday Wants.  I am still annoyed with asos so haven't purchased the leopard one yet but I have just sent back a dress as I not happy with the quality of it and I used a groupon code to buy it so I am figuring that as I will have to use the discount again it doesn't really count as supporting asos... so the dress may well be mine  ;)

How pretty is this little pink pleated number from Rare?  I have a couple of Rare Groupon vouchers to spend so this one is definitely going to have to be mine.  I have loved all the Rare dresses I've bought recently, the quality is great especially when I have been getting them at such bargain prices thanks to Groupon :)

I can't get enough of these brightly coloured dresses at the moment and this orange dress from Miss Selfridge is no exception.  I am so loving colour blocking at the moment, makes a nice change from all the floral I usually wear.

I've been looking every where for some tan sandals and think I have found them in this New Look pair.  I have quite wide feet so they have to be adjustable and I unfortunately cannot wear anything between my toes so all thong sandals are out.  Although you can't see from the photo these have a low wedge which is great as super flat sandals make my legs ache by the end of the day.

The final item on my wishlist this week is this pair of beautiful gold wedges from Monsoon.  I actually have a pair of these from a few years ago but they are flat and from Tammy Girl and was so happy when I spotted these.  My Tammy Girl ones are so comfy and I am hoping that adding the wedge will make them that bit more comfy on my legs and they are pretty enough to wear in the evening too :)

Models Own Pro - Matt Purple

I will start this by saying I don't like matt polishes.  I did however love the shade of this purple polish from the Models Own Pro range so decided to ignore that it is a matt polish.   I think matt polishes always look shabby, they just don't look as finished as a lovely glossy nail but thats just my opinion and taste and what do I know?! haha.

Purple is my favourite colour but I only really wear it on my nails as I end up feeling like a goth if I try to wear purple clothes.  I would love a bright purple dress in the style of this Topshop orange one though if anyone would like to make me one please.  I am sure I won't end up looking like a goth in a dress like that!

Like the other Models Own Pro polishes I own this polish applies really well and gave great coverage in two coats.  It appears a bit darker on the nails than in the bottle but its still a gorgeous shade.

 To make it more me I've added a gloss topcoat, that's so much better!

Hello my little bunnies, how are you all today?  Hope you've all got an Easter egg or two to tuck into today.  I've been saving a malteser bunny for today, I haven't eaten any chocolate all week so cannot wait to sit down and enjoy it this evening.  I have weighed myself today as part of my first week on slimming world and I have lost 4lbs :)  I am very happy with that!  It may have been more if I hadn't saved up my syns til yesterday to have a few G&T's and a scrummy meal at my favourite Italian restaurant but I didn't go over what I had allowed myself and drank loads of sparkling water in between the alcohol.  I did really want a nice pint of peroni but I resisted and am proud of myself for actually having some self control!

Today I am spending the day with the boyfriends family as it's his sister in laws birthday.  We are having a BBQ although the weather doesn't look like it's going to be that great today.  It's hard to remember it's only April after days like yesterday!

I did get the coral dress from Rare using my Groupon code and isn't it a beauty?!  I am so glad I did, it's such a beautiful colour and being chiffon it hangs really nicely too.  AND IT HAS MEGA POCKETS! Sold!!  As I used some groupon credit to buy the voucher this dress only cost me £10.50 inc p&p, amazing!

Happy St Georges Day!

Happy St Georges Day everyone!  Anyone celebrating it?  It does make me sad that more English people celebrate St Patricks day than celebrate St Georges day.  I am going on a pub crawl with some friends to celebrate, lets hope there are lots of beer gardens involved!

It's been so nice recently, my concession to the weather is I have switched my tights and pumps for leggings and sandals. That's about as far as I go.  I really don't feel comfortable bearing flesh.  I never ever go either bare legged or armed, am I alone in this or do any of you cover up regardless of the weather?

I adore this dress the shape is so flattering and for those of you complaining about how short most dresses are it's a few inches longer and comes to just above my knees.  It comes in a variety of prints and patterns so you can snap up more than one!  I really love Emily and Fin, they are the makers of my absolute favourite dress.  I haven't shared this dress with you as mine are currently too small but I own this dress in every colourway they have ever made... as soon as it fits again it will be on the blog!

Pink Pop!

I hope everyone has had a great bank holiday Friday, it's been a gorgeous day and I've not been at work so I couldn't have been happier.  More importantly I had a Nandos, that in itself is a reason to celebrate!  I picked up one of the dresses in my Wednesday Wants, isn't the colour amazing?!  The straps are too long for me though so I need to take them up but this is standard for me but still annoying.  I have also ordered the orange Topshop dress and it was meant to arrive on Thursday but didn't.  I don't seem to be having much luck with online shopping recently :(

Keep or Return?

Way-hey!!  It's Thursday and the weekend is here already.  I am so happy!! ELEVEN whole days off work.  I cannot wait :)  I want to catch a bit of this sunshine before it hides for the rest of the year.

I love this dress but I am not sure about the colour on me.  It's much brighter in reality.  I think I thought it would be more of a coral colour but it is most definitely bright orange!  It's just not as nice as this one so I am not sure I will really ever wear it, what do you guys think does it get top marks or is it a must try harder?

Wednesday Wants

I'm far too tired to share my grumpy face with you guys this morning.  I'ld put you off your breakfast.  Roll on Friday and the start of my 11 days off work.  Bliss.  Thought I would share the dresses that have caught my eye recently and keep popping into my head tempting me to buy them...

 Dress: Topshop

 I tried this dress on in white the other day and it was far too see thru for my liking but in orange that shouldn't be an issue.  I want it!!  Gorgeous vibrant colour and perfect shape.  Would look ace with some gold sandals and a bit of a tan.  Not that I ever bare much flesh, ankles and wrists is more than enough thank you.

 This dress is an absolute bargain at only £26.  Another lovely bright colour and perfect shape.  It currently feels like the stores are making the dresses that are floating around in my head as the 50's full skirt shape is the best shape for my body and most of these fabrics are non crease in a get-out-of-the-washing-machine-and-put-it-straight-on kinda a way, you doesn't enjoy that?!

Dress: asos

Yeah I know it's from asos and that I have fallen out with them but it's leopard print and full skirted.  It's so gorgeous.  I haven't forgiven them enough to order it yet though but I can keep taking little peeks at it and hope that one day it will be mine!

Models Own Pro - Stark Naked

It seems like forever ago since I bought them but I wanted to share the final Models Own Pro shade that I purchased, Stark Naked.

Stark Naked is a creamy nude with a slight gold shimmer.  You can see the gold better in the bottle than you can on the nail, it isn't obvious but adds a lovely dimension.  It went on well and needed two coats.

Have you tried any of the Models Own Pro range yet?  Which colour is your favourite?  I might have to pay the stand another visit and pick up a few more to try!  My nails are quite weak again from me peeling off my polish, I really need to start taking the supplements I bought to try and protect them.  Hopefully this mega healthy diet I am sticking to will also have a positive effect on my nails!

A little catch up

How are you all my lovelies?  I've had a little break from blogging this weekend as I just couldn't find any time to fit it in!  I spent Saturday morning with friends watching a friend abseil down the front of the Mailbox in Birmingham for charity followed by an amazing lunch in Nandos and a stroll along the canal.  It was topped off with a bit of shopping at the Bullring, perfect!  I haven't been to Birmingham in ages which is strange as I used to go almost every other week and it felt great to be back.  I've missed you Birmingham, I promise I won't leave it so long next time.

Sunday was filled with the Gadget Show.  I've wanted to go for a while but tbh I was quite disappointed. It was more of a technology show than a gadget show and there wasn't enough to play with unless you enjoy gaming.  I'm crap at computer games so wouldn't want to play with an audience.  I guess its like the Clothes Show, I love clothes, hate the Clothes Show.  It's always such a disappointment and is usually filled with tat with good stores few and far between.  The jury is still out as to whether it was worth the £16 fee.

I am so glad this week is only four days, religion does do some good after all then! I have booked the three working days between Easter and the Royal Wedding off work so I have a whole eleven days to look forward to.  I haven't made many plans yet, I am going on a pub crawl on Saturday for St Georges day and I am going to Paris on the 29th for my sisters hen weekend.  I didn't get any suggestions for what to do in Paris when I asked last time, some of you must have been?!  Please be kind and leave me a comment with your must see/do/eat.

Today I am wearing one of the bargain Dorothy Perkins dresses I picked up using several discount codes.  It's a little long so I think I might take it up although it is perfect for work.  I bought it in two colour ways and I think this one is my favourite.

Dotty About Dahlia

I won this little beauty on eBay a couple of weeks ago and am still excited about it!  Its by Dahlia from a couple of seasons ago, I chose a floral dress in the same cut over this polka dot one and have regretted not buying both ever since.  I check eBay most days for Dahlia stock and haven't been able to find this dress in my size until now.  It was definitely worth waiting for.  I LOVE IT!!

Don't you just love it when you finally get your hands on something you've wanted for ages and it turns out to be as perfect as you hoped it would be.  Doesn't happen very often for me, normally if I have had to hunt high and low for something I have usually built it up so much in my head that it ends up being full of disappointment. 

Thanks for all your input on my latest keep or return... I decided to return.  What you couldn't tell from the photos is how annoying the underskirt is when I moved.  It totally ruined the look of the dress and I decided it wasn't worth the annoyance.  Such a shame as I really loved the print and colours of the dress and it would have been perfect for the summer.

What are your plans for this weekend?  I am hoping we will get more good weather so I can do lots of walking and chilling out and I'm going to the Gadget Show on Sunday, very excited!! 

You Wouldn't Believe It If I Hadn't Told You...

Can you guess where this dress is from?  It is from a shop I NEVER EVER step foot in.  They make clothes that make me cringe.  Horrible cuts, horrible fabrics and usually something really, really off like a big bit of metal detailing or something.  It's a shop I don't even consider trying when my regulars have let me down.  In my opinion it is that bad, the clothes are terrible and they are not at all cheap.  They just look cheap. Anyway onto the dress...

Gorgeous colour, lovely thick crease free fabric that hangs well and nicely cut.  Just about perfect.  It was  a bit pricey at £38 but I loved it enough to step foot into the dreaded shop.  It was hanging in the window, the colour and shape drew me in and made me want to see more.  I had to avert my eyes from the disasters surrounding it and pick it up and give it a good home.  It now sits next to many other pretty dresses in my wardrobe and fits in much better there than in that tacky shop known as JANE NORMAN! Yep Jane Norman, can you believe it!

The lovely Helen is organising a meet up in Manchester (with help from the other equally lovely Helen!) Looks like it will be the end of May/Mid June time and will be a weekend for those who work hands up who wants to attend?!

Keep or Return?

Another keep or return for you guys to help me with today.  I love this dress and I think it's flattering and a good length but its made out of the stupidest fabric combination ever!!  The underdress is a heavy cotton with a ruffle and seam and the top layer is a very light chiffon.  They do not make a good combination and this makes me very sad as I love the print and the colours.  The top layer just doesn't sit well over the bulky underdress and it makes it stick out in strange ways.  Can anyone offer any solutions to this?  I've ironed the underskirt so that its at least smooth but it doesn't seem to have made much difference :(

Rare Stud

I feel like I have been totally MIA recently.  My extraction went well and the pain is starting to subside thank goodness.  I cannot wait to eat solids again.  I LOVE mashed potato but after two days I have had enough :( I miss chewing and cannot wait until I can open my mouth wide enough to eat something with a bit of texture.

I got this dress for a whole £5 plus p&p after I purchased a groupon voucher using my referral credits, result!  The offer was repeated again yesterday so I snapped up another one, this dress is perfect for lazy summer days and they do it in loads of colours.
