Let's Talk About Coats!

Unusually for me I have had difficulty finding the perfect winter coat this year.  I normally spot the perfect coat as soon as they hit the shops and snap it up right there and look lovingly at it for a few weeks til it's finally cold enough for me to wear it.  I made my move yesterday and this is what I have gone for:

I didn't think much of this when I first saw it online but they had a return in my local Miss S and I fell in love.  Wasn't my size so when I found they only had one left online and in my size I knew it was meant to be!!  Can't wait for it to arrive :)

My other contenders were...

Coat: Warehouse
Absolutely adore the colour of this one but was put off by the belt and the massive pockets.

Everything is perfect about this apart from the length, just too long for me.  Would be my dream coat if only it was shorter/not so expensive to have it taken up!

Coat: Dahlia
This was nearly mine but the contrast detailing on the Miss S coat stole my heart!

Coat: Topshop
This only came online yesterday and hasn't actually been available to buy (think they have the price wrong, a similar one is £250!!) but it's beautiful and if it does end up being stocked at £98 I think I will have to make it mine.

Have you bought your winter coat yet?  What did you go for?

  2. I picked up a red one from ASDA for £19! it's quote thin, so might need a warmer friend to go with, but for £19 I couldn't resist!!

  6. I love the contrasting detailing on the Miss Selfridge one, good choice Sarah. I haven't actually brought a winter coat this year, I brought a navy thin Autumn one from H&M. I do have about 15 coats to be fair so I think I am just going to reuse one from last year. Might bring out the leopard print faux fur!

  7. We have the exact same taste! I saw that last Topshop one yesterday and was devastated it was out of stock! And I'm considering making that River Island one mine as a substitute.

  9. The topshop coat is £98 - I was standing in line behind a girl in my local shop the other day and she was buying this coat. Its absolutely gorgeous in the flesh - mega coat-induced swooning was going on!

  10. Ohh gosh, the Miss Selfridge one is really rather splendiferous. Good choice! I've got a thin trench coat from New Look, a gorgeous wine colour but not très warm ): Never mind, eh :)

  12. I spent my coat fund last year on a booootiful military style coat from...Next! I never go in there (staff hanging at the door always put me off) but this coat is a dream. I'm not sure I'll ever want or need another! It cost £85 & well worth it x

  15. Those coats are all lovely - & the one you've gone for is gorgeous. I do really like coats like that, however practicality wins the day for me when it comes to a winter coat! Absolutely 100% HAS to have a hood. I'm still practically living in my grey (with black toggles) duffle coat from last year, but I have bought a new one this year (& wore it for the first time today) - it's a gorgeous autumnal purple colour. I love it! (just remembered there's a little pic of it on my last post if you're interested!)

  20. I love all of these, especially the first and the last ones. I have had the same winter coat for about 3 years now but I love it and am quite broke at the moment so it will do for another winter!

  21. Love your picks, very fab...you'll have to post some pics for us! I've opted for a short yet warm coat from New Look this year. It has a hood which I need for horrid weather days as I'm really vain about my hair and make-up so I was sold immediately lol :)
