Keep or Return?

Another keep or return for you guys to help me with today.  I love this dress and I think it's flattering and a good length but its made out of the stupidest fabric combination ever!!  The underdress is a heavy cotton with a ruffle and seam and the top layer is a very light chiffon.  They do not make a good combination and this makes me very sad as I love the print and the colours.  The top layer just doesn't sit well over the bulky underdress and it makes it stick out in strange ways.  Can anyone offer any solutions to this?  I've ironed the underskirt so that its at least smooth but it doesn't seem to have made much difference :(

 Dress: Monsoon

The pesky underskirt, sorry about the face!

I purchased the coral Rare dress and decided on my third choice AND THEN found out that the Groupon deal is on again!! I may have bought another coupon... Such a good deal and I was so impressed by the dress I wore yesterday that I couldn't resist.  The offer expires tonight so snap one up quick, you won't regret it! £9 for £30 spend at Rare Fashion

  3. I think the fit looks lovely on you and love the pattern. However if the underskirt is annoying you, id take it back. Only going to get more frustrated with it over time.

  4. How about removing the underskirt and replacing it with a low density chiffon/cotton one if the dress is too see through without anything at all? If its just a double hemmed waistband join, it should be easy to unpick and remove the existing one, and then a simple running stitch and hem would suffice to fit a new one in...if your not a sweing whizz yourself, you could send it to a seamstress, or me! (haha). The dress is beautiful and really suits your colouring, it'd be such a shame to lose it.

  11. It looks lovely on but the underskirt does sound annoying! I think they have done it to give the dress a bit more shape but I'm not sure, sometimes after washing and ironing it it looks better but it depends on how annoyed you are going to get with it!

  12. It's completely gorgeous and I think you should keep it! You could take out the underskirt and wear a slip underneath, or make it shorter and wear over jeans?
