Black and Gold

I've had this Primark dress for about a month now but haven't gotten round to wearing it.  Gem blogged about this dress the other day and she found it unflattering and I have to say I agree.  Such a shame as the fabric is gorgeous.

Dress: Primark

It is just odd in the bodice bit.  I had such high hopes for this dress too.  Don't think I will be wearing this one again :(  I'm glad you all liked my half moon nails, I hate to tell you all that they lasted all of an hour!  I started to feel better on Sunday so decided to re-grout the kitchen (as you do) which totally messed up all my hard work.  I loved the black and gold combination so decided to use these colours again...

They are super shiny so were really hard to photograph. Black and gold is a definite winner!

It's my Mums birthday tomorrow so I am looking forward to baking her a cake.  She is on a diet ready for my sisters wedding though so I feel bad for tempting her but it is her birthday!  I think I am going to make a victoria sponge but haven't totally decided.  What's your favourite birthday cake?  My Mum doesn't like chocolate cakes but if you have any other amazing must try recipes please let me know, I am going to bake it tonight.

  9. I was eyeing up this dress the other day, glad I didn't go for it now. That's the problem with Primark - it's cheap because everything is poorly made!
    Loving the nails :)

  11. Aw, I actually think you look nice in the dress. Shame you don't like it, but it's best that if you don't feel like it's you, just not wear it again :P Your nails, as usual are gorgeous! :)

  13. Dress twins again! :) The middle IS weird, that's how I felt when I wore it. Silly Primark.
I think I'm going to wear it with a wide belt and it will look fine. The feedback I got said wide belt or cropeed cardi buttoned up would make it more flattering.
I think you sould make a simple sponge but fill it with lovely strawberries and cream mmmm
