Label Whore

A recent twitter conversation with Lily and her subsequent post got me thinking.  I've been lucky enough to be able to treat myself to a few designer items but have I chosen well and spent my money wisely?  The answer would be both yes and no.  If I looked at the cost per wear one item must be pennies as I use them most days.  But two items have only been worn a handful of times so the cost per wear is still over £100, definitely not a wise investment.  This said I absolutely LOVE all of the items and if I was to go back and buy them all over again I wouldn't change a thing.  A smile planted firmly on your face as you glimpse that dress in your wardrobe is priceless.  Now to share the items...

My beautiful Chanel sunglasses

I absolutely love these babies!  I am quite sensitive to the sun so have to wear them all year round for driving.  I wanted to show you what they look like on, I felt like such an idiot taking these photos so I hope you appreciate them!!

My absolute favourite designer was is Luella.  It's as if Luella Bartley got inside my head and designed the clothes I dreamed of.  The dresses were breathtaking and in my opinion were designed for girls with curves.  I am lucky enough to own two dresses but unfortunately they are both a size 10 and no longer fit so I can only look lovingly at them :( one day maybe...

It's all in the detail :)

So what would you buy if you had a few hundred pounds spare?  I'm not talking enough to buy an Alexa or anything but just enough to really treat yourself!

  1. Ah Luella, so gutted she stopped. I think I'd buy a bag or a piece of jewellery xx

  2. Jewellery without a doubt. I own quite a few Tiffany pieces thanks to birthday and christmas. I love them. There is just something about going into Tiffanys on Bond Street. Its heaven. The customer service is immense and I never feel as though I dont belong there. Unlike some shops where I get followed!

  3. Oh jesus I love the Chanel sunnies! They are gorgeous but I would never look after them properly I don't think.

I'm due a bit of inheritance money soon and I kind of want to spend it on something designer. Something that I will love and cherish for the rest of my life, but at the same time, I think I'm too fickle to do that and I feel like whatever I pick, I'll end up regretting it in a few years time. I'd love a Rocco but I don't think it's very 'timeless'... so yeah... having a bit of a dilemma about what to do. Thre was a point to telling you that story, but now I've forgotten what it was so soz!

  5. The Luella dresses are beautiful! I am lucky enough to own a beautiful Luella dress but I also have a couple of other 'designer' pieces which I bought when they were heavily reduced. I will say though, I think good quality underwear is an investment worth making!

  6. @Gem good idea. I've got a small Luella satchel type bag but it's too small for my iPad so I don't use it that much. I also bought myself a Links of London necklace for my 30th, loads of hearts and arrows but it's silver so hardly gets any wear :-/

@Sophie I've never been in a tiffanys store! I've browsed the website though and like some things but nothing that is obviously tiffanys and it would have to be gold.

@Alison choose something classic that you think you'll always love. Not an easy task, I know! I haven't even looked at another pair of sunglasses since I got the chanels, they are just perfect! Ive had a few £100ish designer watches over the years but wouldn't wear any of them now. I would have loved some ysl tribute heels and would have got them if they hadn't sold out everywhere!

@Emma jewellery seems to be a popular choice :) I've had a few lovely pieces as pressies recently and even though I think they are expensive they are not even solid gold! I would quite like a gold and black diamond ring... maybe one day ;)

@Danni and Maria I've seen your dress Maria, it's lovely! Same style as my floral one.  I keep meaning to go to the Luella store in Bicester to see if there are any bargains.

  7. I reckon I'd get a pair of designer sunnies or a nice purse. There's a really nice Marc Jacobs one that I really want! I'm not sure I'd ever buy myself jewellery though, it's kind of more special if somebody else buys it for you? Maybe that's just me!

I love both those Luella dresses, and obviously your Chanel glasses ;) They really suit you! x

  8. Those sunglasses are gorgeousss! I have a pair that look almost identical that I got in Dorothy Perkins, I had no idea they were a designer look a like!

I think I'm going to have to go with the majority and say I'd either buy a bag or a piece of jewellery. I go through so many phases with clothes that I don't think I'd get enough wear to justify something so expensive!

  9. Love those sunglasses, so classic!
I've got a Vivienne Westwood purse that turns into a bag if you clip the strap on which I used loads and two Vivienne Westwood chockers.
I really want a nice bag or scarf, something that I could use every day. Luckily(or not) for me no designer dresses fit me so I can't splurge on a really nice dress.

  10. I love those sunglasses so much! I've always wanted a pair myself.

My big investment is my Links of London charm bracelet which I gradually keep adding charms to, I wear it all the time :)
