Tangerine dream

Dress: asos

I had forgotten all about this bargain dress until I read this post on thehighstreet the other day and thought it was about time I dug it out and took the tags off.  It was only £6!!  Can you believe that?!  It will be getting more wear from now on.  I know the cardigan is similar in colour to this one (my boyfriend kindly pointed that out...) but I can't get enough of the rusty/orangey colour around at the moment.

New stuff has started to arrive on websites so I might be able to collate a new wish list soon but this dress might just have to be ordered before then... and yep its orange!

Dress: asos

I am having a little break from nail polish as my nails have gone really weak and keep breaking, can anyone recommend something to give them a bit of TLC?  Whilst we're on the subject I had a conversation on twitter yesterday as I am looking for a nail polish that stays chip free for longer than a day.  It seems that we all have the same problems, it doesn't matter whether it's a budget or premium polish they all chip.  I end up painting my nails every day as I just cannot stand chipped nail polish.  The temptation to peel it off is just too strong (another reason my nails need a break!)  I always use a base coat and a top coat but it doesn't seem to make any difference.  I am going to try either an OPI topcoat or Seche Vite as recommended by the lovely Lucy but would love to hear your recommendations too.

  1. The black dress is lovely, so flattering! I have a similar one from ASOS but it's a funny mushroomy colour and not really very nice, boo! I've noticed loads of the shops getting new stock in too and have fallen madly in love with the burnt orange colour that's around, there's a gorgeous blouse in Dorothy Perkins at the minute that I definitely need!
Let us know which topcoat you decide on, I'm excited to try Seche Vite like the saddo that I am! xx

  4. I'm loving burnt orange too and have been lusting over a few cardigans in that shade. I love yours and might have to go try it on when I go into town later!

I've found that applying your polish on in really thin coats helps it last longer. There's also a technique called 'sandwiching' which is supposed to work but I'm always in too much of a rush to try it! Here's the page I found out about it on: http://www.lacquerized.com/2010/07/how-to-make-your-manicure-last.html

I'd love to know how you get on with the new top/base coats though! I'm just using Barry M at the moment.
