Happy New Year!!

Hope you all had a great start to 2011, I did.  We had a lovely chinese with my boyfriends family and his gorgeous one year old niece took centre stage and made sure we all had a big smile on our faces.  She is just sooooo cute!  We then headed over to friends where my cakes went down a storm, my first cheesecake was amazing even if I do say so myself, will defo be making that again.  We played boardgames and drank forfeits followed by a dunk in the hot tub just before New Year.  We saw New Year in watching the BBC countdown and the amazing fireworks in London, they must have cost an absolute fortune! Very impressive.  We then let off some not very impressive fireworks of our own and lit some paper lanterns and watched them fade to the distance taking our wishes with them.   We ended the night playing rock band on the wii.  It was the perfect way to spend NYE and much preferable to being squished in a pub and paying for the pleasure.  Think its the first New Year I've seen in wearing my dressing gown though!

Now more importantly what did I wear?!  I have worn this dress a few times over the Christmas period as it's just so comfy to wear, I LOVE it!

Dress: Topshop
Brooch: Accessorize
Hair Clips: New Look

I thought I would include some make up shots too as it's not something I have done before.  My make up is always pretty standard, I only really wear gold eyeshadow and its always the same one.  It was discontinued a few years ago but new stock is still available on eBay so I am going to keep buying til it's gone.  It's a liquid eyeshadow that dries to a powder and lasts all day without creasing, it's fantastic I have no idea why they stopped making such a good product.

Eyeliner: Benefit Bad Gal
Eyebrow pencil: Discontinued Clinique - argh need to find a new one I like!

Is it wrong that I painted my nails to match my shoes?!  I LOVE these shoes, I have had them for a good few years now and they still manage to put a smile on my face whenever I see them. Some of my fellow livejournal friends may recognise them from my only ever post on thehighstreet

Shoes: Topshop from ages ago

I forgot to say before if any of you would like the recipes for goodies I bake let me know and I will include them in my posts.  I'm not going to do a month by month round up of 2010 but it was a good year for me, I had a great time with friends, moved in with my boyfriend and finally got the courage to start this little blog.  It's been pretty much the perfect year.  I've already got a wedding and a new arrival to look forward to in 2011 and cannot wait to see what else this year has in store.

HAPPY 2011 EVERYONE!

 Kisses xx

  2. @Caroline thanks sweetie. It didnt actually go into the sale online as it sold out pretty much straight away but I guess they mark down all products as there may have been a few lurking in some random store somewhere. I had it booked marked from when it was new in xx
